I just noticed that Google has given me a gift of about 1500 additional MB of Gmail storage. Yesterday, I had ~2800 MB. Here's part of a screenshot:

Might this have anything to do with their recent addition of IMAP service? Hmm...

Google announced this a while ago.

Paul, thanks for that link. Google posted about 12 days ago that "today we're announcing we are speeding up our counter and giving out more free storage." I think that's a bit different than immediately bumping up my storage by 1.5GB, nearly doubling it overnight. But, if that's what they mean, awesome...at this rate, I should have a terabyte by the end of the year. ;-)
mine reaches 5498 MB, which is awesome that i could make all my other email addresses to automatically forward emails to my gmail so that i can just log in gmail to receive all my emails. moreover, gmail can reply the mail using the email address which the mail is forwarded from.
