The Misspellings of Cincinnati

I live in a city with a name that few people not from here seem to be able to spell correctly: Cincinnati

Despite being the home of the first professional baseball team, the headquarters of Procter & Gamble and Federated Department Stores (among other large firms), and part of the name of a popular sit-com (WKRP in Cincinnati, Cincinnati seems to be regularly misspelled in various creative ways.

Using Google Trends, I found out that the most common way to misspell this city's name is "Cincinatti," but other mistakes are also common:

Thankfully, the search frequency of the correct spelling - Cincinnati - is magnitudes higher than any of the misspellings, but it's interesting to see such widespread ignorance. Imagine that many people spelling it "Misisipi". OK, never mind.

And yes, I was tempted to title this post "The Misspellings of Hamilton County".

I think you may have uncovered a major problem in present day America. I think Cancinetti should embark on a major effort to enforce and educate, to go where no man has gone before, to establish that Cincannetti is central to the American spirit and it is the duty of every God fearing American to know how to spell Cetnicatty.

May I make one small suggestion, to highten the user experience and make it easier to reach your goal of 100% correctness, it might help to pick an easier name, something that embodies style and user friendlyness. I would suggest iCin. It projects a nice plastic reality, one where everyone can talk to everyone, where there are no viruses. You could simply run the Mac commercials with a voiceover using San Francisco or New York to replace Windows.

Or something like that.
