The automotive world has been full of superlatives lately as the big automakers are tripping over each other to offer the latest, greatest, fastest, most technological, safest, quickest, best braking machine to the salivating, well-heeled buyer. Still, nothing has come out to surpass the amazing McLaren F1. Until now...
TopGear has recently tested the Koenigsegg CC and have crowned it as the fastest car they have ever tested. Words or pictures cannot really do this thing justice so I ask you to download this video [8 min - 22MB] and see for yourself. If you are a car enthusiast like me, you will go completely ape.

At the end of that video, did you notice the car below the Zonda and the Koenigsegg in terms of fastest lap times? The $35K Mitsu Evo VIII, just 5 seconds behind two zillion-dollar cars. Amazing...maybe I should go check out that Evo. >:-)

You can bet that if I wasn't driving an 11 month old WRX that my butt would be in an Evo 8. No doubt about it! You realize that if you get one I will have to kill you. :-)
Sidenote: A new Evo 8 just dyno'd the other day at 518 WHP using a stock shortblock.

I know the first car i,m going to buy when I win some money. I will get rid of my crapy mustang gt.the koenigsegg cc is the best car I have ever seen as far as design and speed and looks. BRAVO! Shawn.

Well I don't about you guyz :P. I think the 2003 nissan skyline gtr is the car for me!!!!! The cc Has good looks and is also and convertable thats why it's so expansive. I am gonna get 1 Skyline 2 Ferrarries.... Yes a rich boy! Skyline is my fav car email me if ur intersted in racing. = )

I said IF I WON SOME MONEY I WOULD BUY THE CC.I think it is over priced, and i also love the skyline but it lacks personality a bit but with 1000 horses who em i to say? Shawn Z

i seriously doubt u can out take this car, regardless of ur hp. the thing is almost total carbon fiber, and all power, i saw a wind tunnle test of it, its like 110% aerodynamic and its based off of top speed f1 cars too!!

1 second means very long distance in race. 200kph machine runs 55.5 meters per second. So it mean Evo is a couple of 100-meter behind the CC.

Why not test it against the best Group B Rally Car, the Ford RS200 Evo? :)
0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 2.1 secs....
Too bad that only 25 cars of it exist...
...RS200 is current Guiness Book of Records record-holder for world's fastest production car, beating the McLaren F1 easily.

bad comparison noctrex,rest assured that the rs 200 was NOT geared for the same kind of topspeed as the cc is,a rallycar rarely tops more than 200-220 while the cc is geared for a topspeed of 395... and it isnt 4 wheel drive either while im at it.the cc would blow the doors off of the rs200 easily over 200 kph but the lack of 4 wheeldrive and gearing would of course make the acceleration a bit slower,would be strange otherwise ,wouldnt it ? not much diff anyway,0.9 of a sec to 100kph

ya... if you have a 300hp engine in a car, you can have magic number for 0-60mph with low top speed... come on man, learn some physics!!
